I hope you dont pay via cash in your paypal account. You may be screwed. Never leave money in your account. I deal with Paypal on a daily basis as and you do not want to do this. I know too many people who have just lost money left in there.

Always use a credit card or as I typically do the Visa/Debit card tied to your bank account. Worse case senario here would be to contact the visa company and make the claim. You've got a much better chance of regaining your money. Hope it works out for you.

I got a non-working adapter from eBay, too. Ordered one from DELL, arrived the day after next, works perfect. So yeah... for adapters... go DELL directly or just pray to be lucky. =)

First battery from eBay was cracked, guy sent me a new one, works perfect. His name on eBay starts with va... something. lol Cool guy, even called me to say that he shipped the new battery out.

I bought my pa13 adaptor from this seller and I had it shipped usps to the republic of ireland and I received it in 5 days no problems whatsoever!!!!Sorry you are having such a hard time getting hold of yours. But I know you were in the states when you ordered but why didn't you just get it shipped direct to the u.k?
hmmm..I bought from him just because I needed a second adapter. It showed up third day after I bought it and I have no issues with this adapter whatsoever.

Now, if I was going to replace 6800 with 7800, I would buy from Dell.

I guess the horror stories I hear about USPS are true then. Im defintely not buyign anything from Ebay thats shipped USPS
In order to resolve this, I think you need to be clear about who is responsible for which problems.

Bad communication, possibly sending it late = Sellers fault

Item not received but USPS saying it was = USPS fault.

...Unless the guy has sent you a tracking number for the wrong item (check the address and date on there)

If the USPS tracking this is definitely yours, you'll have to make a complaint / enquiry to them, andf check it wasn't left with your neighbors or something while you were out.

I think you'll have a hard time claiming undelivered item and using the dispute procedure when he can just point to a delivery reference apparently proving it was delivered. Case closed, you lose.

I've just bought some stuff from a couple of sellers on Ebay, and suspect they may be dodgy (poor communication, suspicious delays etc). When I bought them, I used paypal to pay directly from my bank - not sure if this means I'll have a harder time claiming back. There seemed to be a seperate thing for using debit cards from a direct bank payment through paypal (UK), and it kept trying to steer me towards paying from my account.

Blah. I'm a bit off Ebay at the moment.

Ive never had problems before with anything bought on Ebay. However, this is teh first time I had soemthing shipped with USPS. I will avoid any sellers using USPS in future.

Yes there is very little I can do as USPS say tehy delivered it and the seller is not repsonding but just just posted a feedback saying Item Dleivered!!! Track No #### blah blah.

I had it dleivered to my work place. No-one here has seen it and I have sent an email around. I paid using PayPal using my c/c.

To be honest I am glad I didnt buy form teh tard consierding the number of complaints people have had with his adapter. Ok I may have paid more from Dell but I ordered it yesterday and it has already been shipped.

A couple possibilities to check out:

1) Did the seller just give you some other tracking number? Does the tracking site show the actual delivery address?

2) Did the seller say the item was sent to you at your work address c/o your company name? If not, USPS may not deliver the package (in Canada, they will simply return the package to the sender). This should have been displayed on the tracking site, though, I'd expect.

Is it possible that it got mis-filed or stolen at work?

Would be interesting to see what signature they got for it (dunno if USPS takes signature on delivery?)

On USPS priority mail they dont ask for signatures. They never asked for one. Id be very surprised if it got stolen. Its a small owrk force and everyone knows each other.

First off.. USPS is perfectly fine! I use USPS everyday to ship out software CDs and have been doing this for almost 6 years. The service has been great! Please note that what you had is NOT a tracking number. It is a Delivery Confirmation number and there is a difference. If you had used USPS Express mail then you'd have had a tracking number and needed to sign for it. Neither First Class or Priority mail will have a tracking number.

Second.. Since you didn't sign for it there is no way for the seller to prove that you received it or not. A Delivery Confirmation number simply means that it was dropped off and delivered to that address. It does NOT mean that you yourself received it.

Third.. Did you get shipping insurance? Its 1.30 and if so then you can submit a claim to USPS stating that the item was stolen. It was delivered to your office but not to you directly and you never received it. Note.. admittedly this can be a pain in the ass with USPS and it can take a few months to resolve.

Your not screwed and can get your money back quite easily. First make a claim through PayPal. This is important as its in their Terms to do so. This takes about a week or 2 to find out if they will return your money and go after the seller (they simply take the money from his PayPal account next time he has funds in it). I've had times where the claim with PayPal worked and others when it didn't. Regardless... If it works and PayPal credits your account/card then great!

If not all is not lost. All major credit and debit cards now have purchase protection plans and since you used a credit card to make the PayPal payment your protected. Call your credit card company (number should be on back of card) and tell them that you made an online purchase with your credit card through PayPal to pay for an eBay auction. The item was shipped but you never received it. They will take some information from you over the phone and give you a claim/investigation number. Your credit card company will mail out a claims form for you to fill out and return. Thats all there is to it on your part and its very simple to complete. Mail or fax it back in to them and sit back and wait. Since you didn't sign for the item they see it as anyone in the office (even a non-employee) could have received the item from USPS. Thats not your fault and they reemburse your credit card.

Dont sit back and think your screwed! Its easy, although takes a few weeks, to get your money back.

Also dont jump and say that you'll avoid sellers using USPS. It no different than if it was shipped UPS or Fedex ground and dropped off at your office or outside your homes front door until you got home from work. Someone at your office (an employee or anyone else) either walked off with the package or it got misplaced by whomever.

Is someone at that front desk all the time? Anyone could ahve walked in, seen it and walked out with it. Dont question it .. It's just how some people are today

While this is true for the standard Priority Mail package, you can request Priority Mail shipments to be signed for. Its called Signature Confirmation. It does cost extra but it can be done :-) As I said above I use USPS everyday to ship packages both within the US and internationally.
