Hey Fire! I paid for two and sent him an email, which I then copied and forwarded to you...should I be looking for some sort of acknowledgement, like a reply email? Will he send out tracking numbers or something?

I just switched email addresses, so can you reply in the thread here and let me know if everything came through?

Thanks!

Hiya,
Got yer copy! just give him a couple days to get em out and then he will get a tracking number to ya.

There was a few other orders put in from the other site as well so he should be making a trip soon.

Thats about all the info I have.

Hope that helps.

These are NOT shipping from Canada, but are coming from Hong Kong. I got hte shipping information from himwith tracking. So, It'll take a week or two to get to you from there. Since it has to get through customs, etc.

Fifty Units sold between everywhere, Price is now adjusted in the first post. Congrats to everyone who saved money!
Normally we would have paid $75 per unit from ebay.

why are these cards unavailable in the U.S.?

And, out of curiosity, and to see if I want to purchase one, what are the Pros and Cons and what makes it better than the Intel 2915? I've heard it gets better reception, and doesn't drop connections like the Intel, and uses less power... just want to know what exactly makes it so much better.
It is of single chip design and uses digital CMOS technology which allows it to operate with less power. It gets better reception due to its extended range abilities. Overall its just a higher end card than the Intel cards in the Dell laptops. Also I have seen a few sites online selling them here in the US but you pay a lot more.

Some people find the Intel cards ok and work fine for them however others dont and have all kinds of problems. For example I have used my 9300 with the Intel 2915 card at 7 locations which all used different wireless hardware. 3 of these locations the Intel would connect only at 1Mbps and well thats useless! The other locations it would connected and give me full 54Mbps but sporadically drop to 1Mbps for a few minutes, then return to 54Mbps again. Uninstalling drivers, changing drivers and anything dealing with drivers DOES NOT HELP!

Honestly I dont care why they work better as long as they do. I'm so tired of my connection dropping to 1Mbps. Unfortunately I have to wait until after christmas to place my order.

FiReBReTHa.. I will be ordering 2 of these after christmas for both my 9300 and the wifes new 700m which she doesn't know about yet

Thanks guys, I know, a few bucks saved is a few bucks to take your lady out to dinner!

I am not sure who is who, so if you guys want, include your forum name in the paypal notes along with "firebretha group buy"

I cant wait!
I am visiting all my stores, pulling out my laptop, then sticking the bloody pcmcia card in, then finishing, then pulling it out, putting it in its compartment. Arrg... Granted I am lazy but I dont want to think of the possibility of me accidently snapping it off or something.
