Who actually fixes the Laptops with Best Buy PSP

I was wondering who actually fixes the emachines laptops. If it is done by emachines or Best Buy technicians. I have sent my laptop in 3 times and currently have a green line directly over my hinge spanning the entire screen vertically. I am going to finally get rid of my lemon. Every time i have sent it in for repairs it has can back with the problem fixed but new problems created. The first time they knocked off all of my rubber feet, the second time they took a screwdriver and gouged a big X across both ram and wlan covers. Luckly my best buy repaired the damage they caused. I would like to know for future refrence does Best Buy fix our laptops or does emachines/gateway.

Arima does. That is who gateway and emachines buy these from.

Sort of. While the laptop is under manufacturer's warranty, it varies. They ship them out to the manufacturer's repair facility sometimes. Othertimes, they might ship them to their own service centers, where the techs may be certified to do manufacturer warranty repairs(when I worked their years ago, this was constantly changing...and also depended on how backed up the regional service center was). After the manufacturer's warranty period is expired, and it's just under the PSP, it goes to the Best Buy service center to be fixed.

This was correct as of 2000 when I left the company. Some of it may have changed(like, I know they can do some very minor repairs in the store sometimes...but that's hit and miss).

Judging by the number of return to refix threads in here, I'd have to say "NOBODY"...

If the unit is still under the manufacturer's warranty, it is shipped to Arima. Otherwise, the unit goes to the Service center that serves that store.
