Slot loading DVD writers

Several companies have slot loading DVD writers out now, the two I've looked the closest at are Pioneer DVR-K05 and the Panasonic UJ-845-B. I've always been fond of slot loading, and have always been fearful of damaging the delicate tray on my DVD drive.

My question is this: has anyone ever put one of these in a laptop? I'm interested in putting one in my incoming 9750.

Heck, just saw someone talking about theirs in a review earlier. Would pass it on if I remembered which thread it was. Do a search for Slot Load and see if anything pops up.

Slot loading drives have their fair share of problems. Try searching and see what you come up with.
