Wow!

This is the only computer i ever owned that apriciated in value after i bought it. Its only 3 weeks old and it looks as if I could sell it for $200 more than i paid for it and still give somebody a good deal. Not that i would I love my laptop! Exspecial now I have it fully tweaked and ready to rock!

Alienware Area51m = 4257.00

Voodoo M855 = 3814.34

Voodoo cheaper by 442.66

Looks like the AMD64 Voodoo lap top is a far better deal then the Alienware lap at this time.

They did go up again. I'm amazed at this too. It's gone up over 400.00 in 2 weeks. I'm glad I got mine when I did that's for sure. I mean they were expensive before but 400.00 is a set og Klipsch speakers. I guess if I had ordered now I might not have ordered those.

Looks like Alienware is out after as much profit as they can get before the end of the holiday season, then they will have to deal with the returns of those who don't want the system they just bought.

I hate it when companies start jacking up the prices like this, i have checked several other PC companies and Alienware is the only one with out of control upward price hikes.

Not good for the consumer.

Hey Sonic,
If you're going to try and sneak back in the forums...at least have a different MO.

Such a silly kid you are. We're just going to ban you again. IP Traceroutes are a beautiful thing.

I've been watching this post as the $ price has been increasing. I thought it might be to do with the exchange rate as the £ rate has been stable, however this morning the base price for the extreme version has jumped from £1981 to £2101, maybe the UK site is just a bit slow keeping up with the price changes. Still waiting for a UK specific keyboard to be available

Aren't the 16.1 screens in limited availability? Didn't somebody say they were being discontinued by the manufacturer? What if this is demand vs supply?

I'm with SmileyT on this one...

Read an interesting article in PCWorld this month about how components manufacturers are behind due to the recent Retail Tech Boom.

Head into any Best Buy and watch how many laptops are sold in any 30 min time frame. Its ridiculous!
