So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...
Lenovo Thinkpad W530 Review

One of the longest and most enduring brands in computers is Thinkpad. Originally developed by IBM in the USA, Thinkpad notebook computers are now...
They are meant for different market segmets. The 6800U and 7800gtx is meant for the heavier DTR market while the X1600 will mostly be found in the ~15" under 7 lbs with decent batterylife market.

When I was looking around it said that the price was going to be 1761.33 Euros... I did the conversion, and that is $2140.46.... Not nearly as much as previously said....
wiz...do you think this lappy will be $2000? I can see why the price would be high but do you think there may be a chance they release it in two configurations (IE: Ferrari 4005 and 4002, and the 8100 series two tiers) to lower price...I could spend up to $1700, but if it's going to be higher than that i might aswell just buy my 4002 and stop waiting. Any idea?
Also is there any chance ferrari's could see a price drop when this comes out...I dunno, just asking in general..
The ESP has been confirmed with Acer's Sales Executive at $2499 USD. And is due out late January.
This will almost definitely be my next note book (I can't wait). That said I just got a little confused at the what IT Week said.
"...and a powerful ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 graphics card - this has 256MB of Ram onboard and shares a further 256MB with the system memory."
So it has a total of 512MB of video memory. I don't know if I want it sharing 256MB of the system memory. I thing 512MB would be over kill especially on a rig that is not primarily for gaming. I gather there would have to be a way to turn this off (stop sharring system memory). Then again if you couldn't I suppose it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world since it does have the original 256MB dedicated.
Or I guess they could have been mistaken in their review. Curious if anyone else knows for sure? All of our questions will be answered when Acer officially releases it, but stuff like this would be good to know ahead of time.
I'm not completely sure, but I think most reviews have said it was shared, but either way u have 2 Gigs of RAM i don't think you are going to notice tooooo much of a difference if 256 MB is taken away.... Thant's still a lot of ram left....
Did you check out the benchmarks though...
3Dmark05- Acer 8204- 1024 x 768: 4393
w/ native 4x/8x: 2220
Thats REALLY good... especially for a comp not ment primarely for gaming...
You're right. I had already decided to not let that stop me. I have 2GIGS of ram right now and no matter what I'm doing or how many programs I've had open, it seems like I always have at least 800+ MB left. So I don't see it as a concern. The overall performance is pretty sick. It's pretty sweet to think of the power a notebook of this size will have. I can't wait to be one of the first to over pay for it
But does anybody know when it's comming out or how to find out....
Because I don't want to be left unable to buy one of these for a while....
Thanks

I think I remember reading that someone else had spoke with an Acer sales rep and they they said it would be available towards the end of January. After that it will be just a matter of getting them to the vendors.
