Modem doesn't hang up

Modem doesn't hang up.

I have a new Dell 6000 Inspiron with a conexant d110 mdc v.92 modem.

The 56K modem doesn't hang up when someone calls me. This feature works fine on my older PC. I've looked everywhere in properties, settings, control panel, help, etc.... and don't find that option.

Check the dial string of the connection. It could be passing a paramter telling it to ignore phone calls by default. I could be wrong cuz I haven't used 56k internet access in eons. Have you called Dell about this?

v.92 modems don't do that by default (older ones did it as a side effect). You can specify this behavior as an init string. Enter "+PCW=1" (w/o the quotes) in the box of advanced tab in the modem properies
