Laptop Cooler for my 9300

Can anyone suggest a laptop cooler that works well for the Inspiron 9300?
My 7800 gtx cards runs at 97 degrees when playing Fear with max setting and i'm guessing thats not a good thing. It only gets up to about 83 degrees playing Battlefield 2. Just surfing the web i get between 50-60 degrees depending on the tempature of the room. I was really hoping to avoid having to pull the notebook apart again and apply as5.

Thanks in advance

Good question because a lot of laptop coolers doesn't fit 17"ers well.

there are a couple of threads about laptop coolers just use the search function.

Welcome to the forums, you will find that most of your questions have been asked or addressed a number of times so with a quick search you can generally have an answer to what you need in short order.

dang and I just typed in Cooler in the search. <shrug> I find that if I complicate or add more than 1 or 2 words search doesn't work to well or I need to go to advance options. and define whether I want it to scan the topic or the whole message, but in a nutshell I have been using search functions on forums for years with no problems.

I would try just propping your note book up a tad so that the fans get more air.

ALso to get some of the hot air out from the bottom chasis

That's a crap fan, The ram is what needs a fan, you need to get some ventillation for our high speed ram at the bottom, those vents down there aren't going to cut it. the GPU and Processor have enough with the fan IMO, if not it's more then likely your current room tempature.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try propping the laptop up a bit to see if that makes a difference. Also its good to know the search function actually works. I got page not found the 5 times i tried it. I guess one word searches are the way to go.

The search function seems to be a little flaky lately.

Aluminum, large cfm, relatively low noise for performance. I think its the largest cooler Ive found that actually performs but you might want to look around a little more. I just bought one for my XPS gen 2, should be here by friday.

The Spire notebook cooler is a great little cooler. The lights are nice too, blends great with the M170, and XPS Gen 2.

Dam, made me think about it. Bytec - 40cfm, 25dba or Spire - 25 cfm, 25dba ?

Over priced hunk of

it doesn't have to be expensive to be decent. all you need is somthing to move the air my man.

thanks for your honesty. Do you have a recommendation?

well depending on your temps I would say just tilt the darn thing up I have no real heat issues but I am running a 6800 Ultra <shrug> the pacific breeze mentioned in a link I posted is decent and so are the cheaper ones posted in this thread.

just look for for CFM and DBa I mean seriously you are not going to get that great of a temp drop from any cooler I personally use a Targus Lapdesk its a ribbed lapdesk that lets air flow through and under it doesn't even have a fan, THough I don't game much with this lappy.

I just bought this on Friday. I should receive it tomorrow. It's going to be smaller then the 9300 footprint. But it's cheap, uses usb for power, and best of all it sucks air from the laptop's bottom chasis and blow it out the back. No air flow in take restrictions.

I have a feeling it's not going to last long, but for $18 shipped, I"m willing to risk it.
