Is $900 a good price for this spec'd 9300?

Hey guys, I have read every post about the 9300. I have set my mind onto getting on more than anything else!

I know someone that would sell me his 9300 for $900.

Pentium M 1.6
DVD/CDRW
60GB
512MB
802.11g
6800Go
Regular screen
6 cell

I've been thinking and thinking and I just don't know what to do. I could probably spec out something better at dell, but that would cost $1,300 with tax and shipping.

What do you guys think? Good deal or not? I'm just worried about the screen since its not truelife. Can't seem to find any side by side comparsions for it.

ok frankly I just ordered NEW with a 3 year warantee and 3 year accidental damage one for 968 shipped the only differences were

DVD burner
ATI 64 meg video
1.7 processor

now that being said. if you are planning on upgrading the video to a 7800 or an ultra then you are better off going with a new one through EPP if you are just going to upgrade the processor and are happy with the vanilla 6800 then I would say offer the guy $800 or 850 for it, but frankly with what the new ones are going for and the fact that they are comming with Serial ATA now and the M170 motherboard I wouldn't call the deal he is offering you as outstanding.

Heck bro with the coupons that are out even if you were thinking of upgrading the processor and to a 7200 RPM HD you still might be better off ordering from dell.

I am not one to buy used laptops from anyone <shrug> that is just me.

David04.. It's a decent deal for a used 9300 to/for general users but not to people here on the forums who know how to find, use and stack multiple online coupons at Dells Home, Business and EPP websites. It isn't hard to figure out how to do all this but you dont know what the deals are going to be from week to week. The 750 off 1499 is kinda rare and is usually off 1999 systems.

If you know the person selling the laptop and you know its been running fine then I see no problem with it. I've seen systems configured like it sell for 1000+ on eBay.

If you want to watch deals checkout the following "Notebook Deals and Coupons" and the thread "DELL Coupon Thread".
