broken wireless router?

I have no experience with setting up a network connection. I recently purchased a WGR614v6 wireless router. The major problem right now is that after running the setup cd and following all the steps, the router still will not connect to the internet. All the steps seem to be fine until I reach the wait for 2 minutes while the router is setting up and to not close the window while it's doing so or else the internet connection will be dropped. The top bar shows it's connecting to http://www.routerlogin.net. However, the page shows nothing - the 'Page cannot be displayed' one. DSL ISP is SBC. I have turned off the Google popup blocker and turned off the windows firewall before doing the setup. I use the ethernet port while doing this. I have the intel 2915 wireless card, if that even matters at all.

What have I done wrong during the setup? Do I need to update the drivers for the ethernet? Also, the manual says that I can access a setup config utility...however, I don't see it anywhere on the cd. Thanks for any help on this matter. Sorry about this veeerrryyyy long post.

I do not know much about network but you may want to post your question here: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/ilec,swbell
They will be more than eager to assist. This is where I go when I need network help.

A lot of people here could walk you through it, but a2rob1 is right; if you go to DSLReports they will know the best way to deal that that exact router, inlcuding known issues if any, and the best firmware, etc.
