3DMark 2001 help please!?!

I am trying to run it but it says,

"3DMark2001 SE needs DirectX 8.1 and proper drivers installed in order to run."

I checked the readme file and it states that I need DirectX 8.1 or newer. Well I have 9.0 so I am a bit confused as to why I cant run this program. Any ideas???

You need 3dmark build 330 or newer. it's a known issue. Go grab a newer version and you will be set. I think they had a patch for it so you don't have to DL the whole thing again.
