So that I can get the most out of the OpenAL technology that a lot of games (e.g. Q4) are using I thought I'd download the beta driver from Creative that has OpenAL support.

Problem is that it buggers up the sound coming out of the notebook. I did the usual

- Uninstall driver
- Reboot to safe mod
- Run driver cleaner to clan creative drivers
- Boot into normal mode
- Install driver

I then went through the steps as per a thread in these forums to get the sound output via the notebook speakers but it doesnt seem to work.

Has anyone managed to get this to work ?
