Wiresless takes forever to connect with static IP

Anyone else have an issue where the 9300 with the 2200 intel wireless takes FOREVER when its set to a static IP? If anything shouldnt it load faster? My computer upstairs has wireless and a static IP in my router and it loads up really fast, but the 2200 seems to sit there for almost a minute before it loads and finally loads everything else.

Its very annoying.

What router?
Settings?

Not sure, but more info might shed some light on it...

Im not at home right now but its a wires/wireless Linksys router, 4 port. BAsically I just opened up the network settings, put in the Gateways, router IP, and IP I assigned them, I also turned DHCP off in the router to do so.

My computer has no issues, the wireless upstairs has no issues, the xbox, 360, or ps2 never had issues, the laptop always takes 30+ seconds though.

Are you using Static IP addresses for everything including the Game consoles?
Are you setting up any static routing?

yes everything is static, and DHCP is turned off. The laptop is the only one with the issue of taking so long to start up the connection

I would try another firmware version on the router. I had issues with my wife's 2200 on our Dlink until I changed the firmware. Kind of a pain because you have to set the router up again afterwards, but that really only takes about 5 minutes.

KingStyle... please tell you me you got rid of the Dell/Intel Wireless driver package and installed the Intel Generic DRIVER ONLY. Then let Windows handle WZC and set your static IP properties. I boot up and I'm connected within 2 secs. But if you mess with anything then Windows will be a punk until you LogOff-LogOn.

I think I am, but I think Windows is controlling the actual wireless connection.
