Desktop not recognizing modem now?

Thread Starter
My gateway desktop has been hooked up to yahoo dsl for almost a year now with no problems. Now I got a laptop with an internal wirelss card. I managed to hook up a D-link Di-624 and the laptop works no problem in both wired and wireless configurations but now my desktop wont log on. I even went to the exploere and used the 192.168.0.1 address and it say the the page cant be found. I unplugged the ethernet cable from the desktop and plugged it into my laptop to see if maybe something wasnt hooked up right but my laptop still had no problems connecting through the ethernet cable. Whats going on? The ethernet adapter in the desktop is working. I cant figure out what could be wrong

Open a CMD window. Run "ipconfig /release" followed by "ipconfig/renew" (no quotes) and that should clear it up.
