The toshiba SD-R6112 is the top of the line optical drive that comes with Sager models. I have been burning CDs but, I can only reach the top speed of 16.4X, most of the time it burns at 16X.
On Pctorque's website the specifications for this drive is 24X10X24. Because of this difference in drive speeds I did a search for the SD-R6112 on Toshiba's website. I found out that the drive is rated at 16X write only. When I am burning a CD, it is going at 2400KB per second just like the Toshiba's site says it does. The specs at Pctorque says it burns CDs at 24X. If this is true it should be going at 3600KB per second then.
What is up with this difference? I am sort of surprised that nobody on this forum has mentioned this before. Is there something here that I am missing?
