Broken TV Tuner. What is this part?

The marked Part on the card is kinda broken on my card. That means the Hull of it is broken. Theres a little coil in it. I wonder if that ha an effect on the Card (Beacause it ain't worikin correct any more). And if it is possible to retrieve this lil coil as a single part and change it on my own.

The other reason might be, that I had to install that little cable on my own and by doing that the little connectors of it might have gotten twisted.

So anyway I would be happy if someone could tell me what part this is, and where to get it. (Or where to get another cable.)

EDIT: I just realized that is from a post by akoustikchik so do you not have your own picture ?

It's not broken. All the AverTV 303P Cards look like that. There is only one connection and yours appears to be connected properly. Do a search for TV Card. There are at least a couple of threads on the TV Card or WiFi Card that would show it.

No right know I don't have an own picture because I don't want to reopen my nb right now. I Know that I took the picture out of akoustikchik's thread but I uploaded it on my own space so I don't see any problems going with that.

And yes on this picture the part I marked is NOT broken, but I know it is on mine and so I wanted to know what this tiniy lil part is and where to get it to repair the card on my own.

Another reason for not using a own picture is, that on my card this little marked thing IS broken and so you guys would not have been able to see what kinda part this is..

I don't think you will be able to replace that one damaged part...

Send Sager/your dealer a RMA request if you are still under warranty.

The thing is, that it just returned from RMA and I think they damaged it but I am not even able to proove this to myself. And I wont RMA it again, cause that would at least be another 3 weeks without my NB and thats a big NO

Anyway I'm not under warranty any more So if I am not able to replace this little part of the card I will get a new one and replace it on my own. I just surely need to know if it ain't possible

(I saw a guy around here that fixed a burned part of his 9860 motherboard so why shouldn't it be possible to replace a lil electronical coil or wathever...)

just get the info of the coil, buy new one in electronic store, take card out, use soldering iron to take old coil out (very carefully - cold heat soldering irons work great) and solder new coil in. replace card and reconnect. if you did everything rite it should work then. cost for material poss. about $5 or less.

just as an afterthought - if you're not comfy doing it yourself take card out and bring to a mom and pop shop for change of part. shouldnt cost you much more and you poss can wait for it (shouldnt take more then 15min max. def better then sending the lappy to sager, wait 3 weeks and it might work or they tell you they have to change the card (if still warranty would be diff) and a lot cheaper.

sorry, relly cant bother to rip mine apart and look - as they say, dont f*ck with a working system - you usually screw it up :O! but maybe sb can have a look, when they rip their KB out anyway for obsessive cleaning reasons or whatever.
