9300 and Gen II uses the Ricoh R5C476. It's on Creative's incompatibility list.
Well it works fine for now, might try to install that Full Feature thing, but that is it. If the internal speakers work then great, if not then screw it. As long as 5.1 works thru my z5500s I am happy.

Hello folks.

I just bought an Audigy 2z notebook card. I installed all the updates. The laptops speakers work with the card plugged in and I think my sound is much better.

I am having an issue with getting the MIC to work in BF2. The mic works in windows. I have used it with the sound recorder and it works. I have selected hardware and EAX in the audio set up. No mic in game or with the mic test. I have tried the both mic inputs to no avail. I also have posted in the BF2 section of Straferight. Any ideas?

WOW Im shocked. Me personally I havent upgraded to any new drivers and havent had any issue with teh Audigy 2 ZS. I dont mind my 9300 speakers not working with the card bcuz I have my 5.1 surround sound headphones attached to the card no issues at all. As opposed to what digitanium says when i unplug and plug in my soundcard while the pc is on no crashes whatsoever. Now it may be a driver issue bcuz when I did update the drivers as a test initially I was having weird sound issues randomly, but since have uninstalled them and no issues. If anyone else wants to try my theory feel free too. In teh meantime if you want to get the best out of the Audigy 2 plug in some 5.1 surround sound headphones and go wild!!

God of War do you use your mic at all in any games? If so did you do anything special.

Duke145 the 5.1 surround sound headphones I got has a built in mic. The mic cable plusg right into the Audigy 2 sz mic in. You have to enable the mic feature in the sound menu. Also not all servers support the mic feature. Make sure you look at the icons to the left of the server name on the Server Menu selct screen.

Well I know my server supports VOIP. My mic is plugged in the mic port. Has far has the sound menu goes the BF2 menue is selected for VOIP. The mic also works in windows it just seems that BF2 is muting the mic. After launching BF2 when I go back to the Creativ volume control the mic is muted. I don't know if it is a problem with BF2 or the way I set it up in windows. Is there some Creative tool I could be running?

Thanks for the replies God of War.

No difference between the two. I got the boxed one because it was easier to open.

The one that comes in plastic have been modified to fit in our Dells.

The boxed ones are slightly short.

You can easily find the plastic one for $89.99 plus any additional rebates these days.

i am having a problem where if i plug in headphones, then unplug them i will lose the audio through the notebook speakers. annoying as all hell plus the bsod when i run 2 instancs of my favorite game.

anyone know what i am talking about?

oh, and i updated to the new drivers on the website and that did not solve anything. plus, the feature mode utility on the task bar does not seem to be responsive.

How about a complete wipe of all things Creative (DriverCleanerPro) and reinstalling it all?

It works perfect over here!
what about losing sound through the notebook speakers when you plug and unplug headphones? is there a remedy for this at least?
I use a logitec mic with great results. Use TeamSpeak. Just plug in the mic and good to go.

Remeber to put the recording mic volume to full.

All of these problems are making me not want to buy this thing +2.1 speakers. Sigh creative's drivers are equal to the bugs in bf2 gg programming...
... but the sound in BF2 makes it worth the gamble... 10x better at LEAST! EAX rules!
does this soundcard actually transform your 2.1 notebook speakers into surround? what about eax, can you experience it using the notebook speakers?
I'd say go for real speakers, laptop speakers always blow.
I have an Audigy xi-fi w/ $1,500 1000watt 5.1 setup on my desktop at home and games sound awe-inspiring to say the least. Which makes sound on my laptop......something to be desired.

I tried my Zs again last night. I swear to god, it makes my G5 and G7 lag somewhat! I'll maybe do a complete clean and reinstall. Most odd.
