9300 Replacement Screen

Thread Starter
So my 9300 LCD had some type of physical problem with the screen, lines of vertical pixels were like, broken and constantly flickered blue. So the Dell guy came over here and replaced my WUXGA screen with another WUXGA screen, but the replacement didn't have the gloss finish, I like it better this way

non-glossy

This happened to me too.

Turned out that the replacement screen Dell sent me was from the old 9200--non-glossy WUXGA. A Samsung.

I eventually replaced it again.

MichaelX30, how long had you had the 9300?

It is true the 9200 was available in matte (non "TrueLife") WXUGA, I wonder if people could request this if they needed their screen replaced...

I think Dell should offer all resolutions WXGA+, a WXSGA, WUXGA with & without the "TrueLife" option for their high end notebooks.

In the computer customization age giving customer choices shouldn't be that complex or expensive but I guess there may be some economies of scale issues & the competition Sony, Toshiba, HP high end screens are glossy. Hopefully the trend will diversify into giving customers more choices eventually.

The best screen is the 17" WUXGA Samsung Truelight. Great quality.
