On Sonys website it looks as though the line has been discon... Anyone have any info on the replacement line or what's going on?

TIA

Replaced by AX

Damn, and I was just about to buy one.

That stinks. No way to modify the configs of the AX that I can find. Not to mention, it looks old compared to the previous one.

(we are talking about the 17incher, right?)

They've lost me as a potential customer and will be sending tons more to Dell. Bad marketing move, imho.

I thought so much. The AX series does have the 17".. but it's not the WUXGA 1920x1200 version. Bummer!

If you want that great screen, you'll have to try eBay or refurb shops like www.eritech.com.

It's a real shame.

I have a VGN-A600. I'm glad they've been discontinued. Yes, the screen is great, but the DVD drive is crap (mine broke down and was replaced when only 3 months old after burning ~10 discs and 20 coasters), the BG2200 wireless card has a lot of problems and I no longer use it, preferring a direct wired connection, and the chassis paint job wears off after a few months where your hands touch it. It's a crap product.
