Stuttering DVD Playback

post #1 of 7
Thread Starter
Hello All,

I was just wondering if anyone else here has problems with stuttering video playback on their 9300's. I have the 6800 Go, 2.0ghz Processor and 1 gig of ram. This is a better machine than my desktop machine and the destkop has no issues playing back DVD's. I am using Power DVD 6 and it doesn't seem to matter if my laptop is plugged in or not. The stuttering doesn't happen all the time but I would think there really shouldn't be any. If anyone has ideas about this it would be great. Thanks in advance.

i have stuttering too during playback on dvds, i think it happens when you have too many programs opened.

I had it too until recently. I use WinDVD and found that if I go into options and turn off hardware acceleration, the stuttering is gone....

Worth checking the options in PowerDVD...

- Go to the start button.
- Go to the Run button.
- Type Regedit then click ok.
- Now go to this spot in the registry;
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

It has subkeys like 0000, 0001, 0002, etc. Normally 0001 is the primary IDE channel, 0002 the secondary, but other numbers can occur under certain circumstances.

In both the primary and Secondary IDE channel.
- Delete;
MasterIdDataChecksum
SlaveIdDataChecksum
MasterDeviceDetectionTimeout
SlaveDeviceDetectionTimeout

Now.
- Right Click both the subkeys for the same two Primary and Secondary IDE channels. Normally 0001 and 0002.
- Select New.
- DWORD Value. Click that.
- Name it ResetErrorCountersOnSuccess
- Double click ResetErrorCountersOnSuccess and set the value to Decimal 1.

- Restart your computer and try a dvd movie.
