I've done lots of business online (as one can see from my Heatware and eBay feedback linked in an earlier post), but I'm trying to be a little more careful this time around as it's for twice as much as my previous most expensive deal ($1400 for my current Sony).
Also, I've got a job in Japan right now, so that necessitates a little more expensive method (which is fine and which has already been conveyed to brianl via PM previously). Even so, if I were in the States, I would request UPS or FedEx. For a big ticket item, I wouldn't trust USPS. For one, you get a tracking number. And *that* is important, to me. Probably doesn't help that I'm a former UPS employee, but after having been through many many trades online, it's just sound advice to have a tracking number for confirmation. USPS does offer Delivery Confirmation, but I use that on lower priced items. For an Area51-m, I believe it's best to pay a little extra for the best.
