Nice review. I should have my Hyper FX 7 tomorrow complete with Smooth paint. Sweet car you have there as well. You just need a hot chick to complete the set.

Thanks JWolves for the excellent & detailed review.
Sager / PC torque should thank you as well, as i'm
sure any user who was wavering on whether to purchase
thesystem will have no doubts moving forward after
reading your review...

Ebus,

In your signature, you mentioned you're running Vmware workstation 5.5
a. did you have any problems installing Vmware 5.5
b. what is your host o/s
c. what guest o/s's have you installed?
d. can you verify that usb keys are readily recognized
in guest o/s?

Major reason i'm considering purchasing 9750 is to run Vmware Workstation
with multiple guest o/s running simultaneously

I'm hoping the 9750 bios will allow one to boot from either drive
as i plan to do following:
a. 1st drive : install XP2 PRO or MCE
b. 2nd drive : install XP2 with Vmware 5.5
b1. guest o/s : W2K Advance Server ( AD, DNS, WINS, dhcp : servers )
b2. guest o/s : W3K Server
b3. guest o/s : solaris 9 jumpstart server
b4. guest o/s : RHEL4
c. i need to run several guest o/s's simultaneously for testing
and this box seems like the perfect solution

By having 2 major o/s's installed on both drives, i can
boot off one drive primarily for personal use and other drive
for work...

Can you think of any issues i may encounter

What are the system temps like ?

I'm curious why one would purchase dead pixel warranty for $200 which is only guranteed for 1st 30 days...

My rationale is there's a 30 day unconditional return policy so if the pixels aren't want you want, simply return the system...

I've heard that if a pixel is going to fail, it usually will fail in the 1st 30 days...
And from what i've read on sager's web site, for $200 they only guarantee pixel for 30 days anyway...

So is there any reason for purchasing dead pixel warranty other than to ensure it ships without dead pixels and to eliminiate hazzle of returning?

Has anyone purchased a system with dual opticals?

I'd like to know what performance is like when copying:
a. CD+R -> CD+R
b. CD+RW -> CR+R
c. CR+R -> CD+RW
d. DVD+R -> DVD+R

Don't worry about DX 10 support

I doubt it. Direct3D 10 is a completely new API, with completely new requirements, and it's going to require completely new hardware. I doubt very seriously that any part you have today will support DX 10. On the other hand, it's probably going to be a year before 10 hardware rolls out, and at the very least another year or two before it really catches on, so there's no sense in worrying about DX 10 support as you plan your purchases right now....
