PDA - What do you like/hate about yours? - Page 2

I have an X5... picked it up cheap to pkay with, and it works pretty good.... 64MB is kinda small, but I have a 128MB SD card in it for now. I also have a Sandisk wifi card for it, so I can IM people while I am in bed!!!

What I hate about it? I let my wife use it for a few months, and she scratched the screen up really bad... gonna have to replace the digitizer on it here soon. That and the stylus is uncomfortable to hold.

I highly recommend this site:

Great resource for the Axim PDAs, I don't have any links offhand but I found some good freeware lists which really helped my X50V although it runs PPC2003SE as opposed to WM5 on your one.

Have an Axim X51v [624 Mhz / BT / WiFi / Windows Mobile 5.0 ] that's been sitting, un-used, for about 3 months lol... I bought it just for the heck of it and really have no use..

between my two cell phones, XBOX, iPOD, and Laptop, I really never got around using the PDA nor feel like I'm missing anything...anyone wanna buy it, shoot me a PM I'll throw in a brand new 1GB SD card too

I think it's a great and useful tool for mobile professionals and medical students!!

I'm thinking of getting a navigation/GPS system for mine. anyone tried that??

dman..i am in the same boat....i have really picked up a fancy of road tripping lately and figured that a nav system would probably be very handy.

x51v

I hate the instabilities and terrible Dell bluetooth stack. Dell's ROMs (not up to revision A06) need a lot of work. Also on my con list is the "VGA" cscreen. It looks nice, but is actually only 320x240 out of the box instead of 480x640. I also get frequent white screens even after performing the supposed fixes for the problem.

If Dell would release a good ROM, I wouild love it, but the things I mentioned keep it on my desk more than with me. It pisses me off about 50% of the time I get to messing with it. I wish I would have bought an x50v refurb instead so I could use WM2003SE instead.

i had a pda (palm) once (end of 2003)... well, after 4 months, the screen got misaligned so bad that the align function could not solve it... i forgot it somwhere on my bedroom but it still turns on and is good for everything but anything that uses the pen (so, it's good for almost nothing).

some time before i look into PDAs again...
