EX7 problem with hard drive, please help

Thread Starter
I have an EX7

- Hypersonic Aviator EX7 Laptop
. P4 3.0ghz
. 60gb 7200rpm hdd
. USB Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 NX
. 2gig DDR2-533
. Geforce 6800go

I would have Hypersonic help me but my warranty expired 5 days prior to me calling them and them saying they couldn’t help me unless I paid for everything on my own, and being a solider for the us army I don’t make much money so i hope i can get some help from you guys

This just happened out of the blue, I didn’t upgrade any bios or firmware, or any of that jazz. When I turn on my laptop, after the main bios screen, is says Detecting........ its supposed to detect the hard drive and load windows but all it was is " No Operating System Found"
I tried everything, I plugged it into the other sata connector, I’ve upgraded the bios, I’ve tried to re-install windows and install the Raid drivers first but I cant even do that because it wont detect the hard drive. I'm thinking the hard drive randomly failed me or the Raid controller somehow messed up on me.

Please guys, any input would be great. I was getting ready to sell this laptop to my friend since I don’t need it anymore; it looks like I’m going to be here on Fort Bliss for a few years so I decided to build a SFF. Anywho thanks again for all your help and Merry Christmas too

I see this is an old thread but anyway...you should also check the bios and see if it see's the drive..if the drive is showing up..you may have crashed the OS..in that case all that you may have to do is re-format and re-install...but first I would low level format the drive (not a true low level format but today the term is used to write zero's to the drive)..you can download a free utiltiy that will write zeo's to the drive and also check it for problems...after thats done you have to partition and format...then install windows and your programs.......I recomend that you do this every 6-12 months anyway..even if your naot having problems...this will keep the system clean and running fast,,over a period of 6 months to a year you have installed...uninstalled stuff plus downloaded files and even when you uninstall things....it still leaves registry entries and files on your machine...and sometimes just deleting those could cause you problems..I do my desktop every 6-9 months...and I realy aint had any problems in the last 2 years with it....I just did mune last weekend......just be sure to always back-up important files you dont want to loose on a CD or DVD...

you could have tried to change from raid to ata in the bios...then removed both drives and put one in at a time to see if maybe one drive failed...or it could be the controller..which is probably built into the mobo and in that case you would need another mobo...
