Just wondering if anyone knew of a tutorial or guide for powerstrip. I'm trying to learn how to use it.

Pea,

www.entechtaiwan.com Enjoy and refer to us here for any other questions you may have...we're all pretty hip to this program around here. Good luck!

Yeah this is true with the exception of my ignorance of the downclocking due to powerplay. Actually there are alot of people here that are pretty knowledgeable about this program and it's pretty simple to use the only thing you don't know is how much overclocking your vid card can actually take. That's more or less learned from trial and error; either others or your own.

You can use the excellent tool on the ATi Omega drivers that tells you if you have clocked your RAM too high without even loading up 3D apps. Pretty cool.

I wasn't aware of that. That is pretty cool thanks once again Craig.

The Omegas are a cool set up. I don't personally use them right now though. Having the o/c component within the driver was a h*ll of an idea. The newest Omega ATI driver killed my Futuremark Score. anyone else see this happen?

I haven't tested them yet I was scoring a 3187 with the 7.95's I'll let you know tommorow.

Right now I'm trying to figure out how to set profiles for apps. For example I play Myst Uru, which prefers a specific contrast and brightness setting. So I went into the Powerstrip tray icon, chose App profiles -> configure. Now I can chose Uru for the app, but what to the three screen icons under "display, color and performance mean"? I'm guessing one is for display, one is for color and one is for performance (in that order). But right now when I pull down the boxes, there are only two choices: "None" and "Performance Defaults."

Now, I've found sections entitled "Display" "Color" "Performance". So I'm asking, do I use these sections to create preset groups of settings that I can then chose in the application profiles?

Thanks you guys!

Pea,

Once you get a profile that you like, hit the "Save As" button and save it. Then it will be available in the pull down menu.

Do the same for "Performance Profiles" and "Color Profiles".

Enjoy!

Hey, maybe I have half a brain anyway. So I figured out how to set basic color and display profiles for a program. I haven't messed with performance yet. In theory I know what overclocking is, but I know just enough about it to know I don't know enough about it, if you know what I mean.

My next question is, how do I set a profile that will automatically load with windows? (i.e. so it is in effect when I view my desktop?)

Thanks you guys!

Pea

P.S. I need to get around to posting a review. I just got this baby for Christmas. It's a Blue Area 51, 3ghz, 1024ram, 60gb hard drive, cd/dvd burner, etc etc. The funny part is I wanted a GeForce vid card. But my husband, who ordered it for me since it was a Christmas present, accidentally got me the ATI. I didn't even notice until yesterday when I got to playing around with powerstrip. Heheh. So much for making fun of all the people having driver problems....

Pea,

Windows will automatically load whichever setting you previously had on when windows shut down.
