CS:S Freezing?

I just got my brand new XPS 400 and set it up yesterday and it ran CS:S fine. but today when i try to join a server to play it freezes and i cant even get out of it, I cant even turn the computer off so i had to pull the plug on it. Anyone know why?

Specs:

3.0 GHz Dual Core
ATi 256 mb 600x with hyper memory
1 GB of memory
160 GB HD

well, maybe call dell up and see if they can help you out, im sure they would be more than pleased to... also make sure you update all of your virus software and anti-spyware, do some scans and make sure its all running correctly, BTW AWESOME GAME CHOICE!!! lol im playing like 24/7

A radeon x600 might have crapped out drivers. go to ATI.com and download the latest Catalyst 5.13 Drivers and see if you get the same issue. If you still get the lock ups it might be hardware related and you really shouldnt have to deal with it if you just got the system. Also instead of pulling the plug the next time your computer goes nuts on you push and hold down the power button for 5 seconds. This is the emergency way of turning off the computer in case something went bad.
