Slipknot, There was a picture of in in the link I gave you. I recommended it to you because one of the Asus resellers that I know uses and recommends them exclusively. I'm sure it's a good product.

after i installed a new HD in my laptop, i decided it wouldn't hurt to try this out.
read some reviews, and they seemed to work fine.
the important thing to think about is the positioning of the cooler to your laptop.
figure out where your CPU and HD are, then position the cooler directly underneath those.
my laptop, for instance, (if your sitting infront of it) the HD is closer to me in the middle, whereas the CPU is in the middle but the back of the laptop...
so instead of placing the laptop right down on the cooler the way it looks like you should, i rotated the cooler 180degrees and placed the laptop that way.
i've read reviewers complaining about it not working, but then realised if it's not cooling the CPU and HD, then it's not doing its job.
correct placement is the key, and it's working great for me.
cheers.

i have this cooler and would not buy another one. first thing i did was flip the fans so that they were blowing up into the laptop, as the stock way has the fans blowing downward. as mentioned above you have to place your lappy w/ the hd cpu over the fans, which may not be possible depending on the size of your lappy and hd/cpu positions. i've also found that propping the back up .5 inch or so greatly improves cooling. i would not buy it again.

Was there a noticable decrease in temperature by doing this?

let me change my earlier comment.....you should keep the cooler the way it is...cause it's NOT BLOWING cool air onto the laptop, it's PULLING air off the laptop...

it's an exhaust cooling unit...and pulls the hot air away from the CPU and HD....so you should put it the way it is supposed to be...

if you flip it over, then you are blowing air into it, and thus could make your laptop actually heat up...

just wanted to clear that up.
