Hey guys, I was just wondering what screen resolution you everyone uses. I see that it goes uo to 1920x1200. Is that the satndard with everyone?

1920x1200 is the native resolution for the glossy WUXGA LCD. Selecting non-native resolutions will look worse.

WXGA+ option is native 1440x900 matte finish, WUXGA is 1920x1200 glossy finish. Why do you ask?

If you increase the DPI, fonts in OS/browser, check out cleartype, reading WUXGA res on a 17" screen should be easier to read.

They DVI out externally at 1920x1200 ex:

Thanks for the reply Lovenotebooks. I was just wondering because i never really payed attention to the screnn resolutions until AFTER I installed my extreme drivers.

Also, I enlarge the text and it looks better, but when I surf the web, the webpages are much smaller.

What exactly is cleartype (sorry for being such a noob)?

Opera is my favorite browser also as it automatically remembers multitab sessions when you exit & if you a close a tab then want it back you select from the dropdown trash icon. The zoom feature is not perfection for all the inherently problematic small low res images on the net viewed on high res displays but it's better than anything else I've seen. It will even read text for you without plug-ins but even with the female voice it's still rudimentary-yet promising. I hope eventually it adopts the Find feature from Firefox with the on the fly highlights but otherwise the best browser I've used & it's free:
