Re-install gone bad

Thread Starter
hey,

I recently tried to upgrade windows XP from win 98 on my desktop..

I formatted my first drive completely which is an old 6gb hd, and then proceeded to install xp on this drive. I have another drive which has all my stuff on it which is a 30 gb hd. When i got to the partitions section during installing XP I set for the 30gb hdd to be left as unpartitioned because i didn't want it to be formatted then i set for a full 6gb FAT32 partition on the other drive and installed xp on that drive.

Now when i open XP it recognizes the first hdd as (c:/) but when i go to look for the second hdd it doesn't show up.. is this because i left it as unpartitioned space? b/c it still shows up in the device manager, just when i click volumes nothing shows up, where as when i go to the other drive it shows up as (C.

Can anyone help me?
Any help would be appreciated as I would like to keep all the files on that other drive!

I think it needs to have a partition on it. Just set the partition size to 30GB or the maximum size.
