apple laptop updates

I was just wondering if anyone knew if apple has a general cycle when they update their laptops?

I'm interested in a powerbook, and heard they're comming out with their intel based notebooks in january. But dont need a laptop untill i start school in september, so I would like to wait until they're second round of intel based laptops.

Do they have a general cycle, like updated notebooks in june-ish or something along those lines? or is there no trend at all?

It's predicted that Apple will unveil their new Mactel laptops at CES or Mac Expo in early Janurary.

their refresh cycle has typically been around every 6 months. also, w/ moving to intel they'll have to stay on track w/ a more aggressive CPU roadmap. i.e.-they'll have to update the notebooks along w/ intel's new stuff at the very least.

i too look forward to the 2nd round of mactel notebooks. maybe by then i'll have upgraded my 1.2Ghz PPC Mac to a 120GB HD, DL Superdrive, and bluetooth!
