Anyone else get this error in the event log?

Please move to support area. Accidental post here.

The SmartLinkService service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

Yep. I get the same thing. Also a Userenv warning under Applications.

Don't have it on mine, try re-installing the modem driver. The modem is a "smartlink" modem.

Turns out that the driver that came for the modem didn't do the job. So I dl the one from AW site and it worked. What I did was go into dev manager and right click and uninstall, then just ran the setup of the dl drivers that I got from AW. Done!!!

Righton. I'll try them when I get home. Also, are any of you getting the Userenv warning under Applications in Event Viewer? What the heck is this??

I get that once in awhile, tis not a critial issue. Take it for what it says, and what it says is that it attempted to unload your user registry but will do it later when it isn't locked by another process.
