Sager 8890 memory problem

Hello Everyone,

I am upgrading my memory in my Sager 8890 and just installed 2 512mb
200-pin DDR SO-DIMM from Corsair but the comp wont boot and I get a series of beeps! I read now about "Dual Mem" Exact specs ect... and did a search for ram and hardly anyone sells this type for 8890. When I do find it is is so $$$$ Whats up with this? 100 for 512mb thats high!

Anyone have any advice on where they got there ram and how much?

Several things:
1. Check the memory is seated correctly in the memory sockets.
2. Remove one of the sticks and boot from that. Change sticks. You may find one of the memory modules is not working.
3. If all else fails I have the 2 x 512 MB original memory sticks from one of my 8890's which was recently upgraded to 2GB. We could do a deal if you are interested.
4. 1GB sticks are about $US132 each from NewEgg and Memory4Less.
