I would also be very interested in these kinds of shots, both open and closed. I'm just trying to get a feel for exactly how big this baby is, as I'm not sure if I really want to lug around a huge brick of a thing. Whenever you have a chance, that would be great, thanks!!!

I'll try to take some pics of the unit I have now for your benefit.

MAN that is sexy! Looks ~1.5" thick? Not bad for a 17". Does it feel luggable? I had a dell i6000 for a short time, and its weight wasnt too bad, and this seems thin enough to compare. Oh and I hope to God that you guys throw a case badge on there, because that hole on the lid exposing the lamps could be bad...

Thanks again!

Nope they come bagdeless, but that leaves it up to you to get creative.

heh i've already been looking for the little puffy plastic badges, but a) i dont know the dimensions of the hole and b) you have to buy like 50 or 100 at a time. So sure, its great that theyre like $0.47 each, but then you gotta spend $25 for the ONE you want, so I google on... I'll let you all know if I find anything worthwhile.

Is that the LCD backlight coming thru?
We could make up some nice badges that would take advantages of that.
Think Apple...

We'll be selling MSI Notebooks soon, so we'll be making our C9 badges for these.
post #14 of 37
If that hole is the same size that the 1029's, we should seriously consider a "MSI notebook enthusiast fund" to buy some custom plastic badges. I know I would contribute.
post #15 of 37
So no one answered if the backlight comes thru on that hole.
I mean I can find out from our PM on Monday, but you know...
post #16 of 37
Yes, as it does in 2 other models from MSI, the MS-1029 and MS-1022. The MS-1036, however, is the only one that leaves a "gaping hole" so to speak, whereas the other two models have the opening covered by a clear plastic.

@unleaded,

Thanks for the superb photos, but a bit more light will be much more superior!

I tried to take the pics in natural lighting as I find the flash washes everything out. If you like I could take some more with the flash.
