A week ago, while I was entering into a bus, the knapsack with my
laptop inside was smashed by the bus door. As a result of this
the lcd screen cracked in several places near the hinges.
And there arose 4 black spots in the lower part of the screen,
the biggest of them is about 10x6 cm. I can still use the laptop,
placing all open windows in upper 2/3th of the screen, but can not
view movies in full screen as well as play 3D games.

As far as I understand, repairing the screen is impossible,
so the only option left is to replace the screen. My attempts
to find a local shop selling 17" notebook screens failed up to now,
so it seems that I have to look for such a shop in internet.

The first problem I am faced with is to determine the part number
of my screen. This part number is written on the back of the screen,
but I am afraid that extracting the cracked screen from the laptop lid
would cause the screen desintegration, so I prefer to do this operation
only when the replacement screen will be already available.

Besides, I would prefer to replace my original WXGA+ 1440x900
by WSXGA+ 1680x1050 one, if only possible. Both sager
and Eurocom sites tell that WSXGA+ screen for 4750 is
LG LP171W02. But I could not find definite info about my original
WXGA+ screen. The only thing I know for sure is that it is either
LG LP171W02 or LG LP171W01. If part numbers of both screens coincide,
I can purchase а "bare" WSXGA+ screen, using my original invertor
and RGB+power cable with it. If not, I am to purchase those parts as well.
If only there is no difference in motherboard versions for these 2 screens:
if motherboards are different, I will not be able to replace
WXGA+ screen by WSXGA+ at all.

So my requests are:

1) If anybody has a service manual for 4750 please send it to me via e-mail!
I need this manual not only to identify lcd screen, but to extract
and replace the screen itself. Though I found in the internet the description
of the corresponding procedure for other laptops (Toshiba Tecra,
etc.) the description for just 4750 would facilitate this task a lot.

2) If somebody just knows for sure the part number of1400x900
screen on 4750, please tell it to me.

3) I will be also grateful for any info about EUROPEAN shops
selling 17" notebook screens. I've found several USA shops
(as well as one guy at e-bay) offering 17" screens, but they are too far away
from where I live (Bulgaria).
