9890 DVD+RW Burned DVD/CDs cannot be read.

Any DVD/CD I burn with my 9890's Lightscribe DVD+RW can not be read by my machine or anyone elses. If I look at the DVD/CD, it DOES appear to have burned something, as you can see the color-variation between the burned and unburned areas.

I have sent two e-mails to Sager support, 1 RMA request, and made two telephone calls. I have not received a response or had anyone answer the phone yet.

Any help anyone can offer?

What is the name of the DVD Media you are using, what is the rated burn speed, what burn speed was actually used, and which software was used to burn the DVD. Also was DVD a copy of a commerical DVD or a "Home Grown" video type of thing?

Does the disk burning process complete or stop with errors? Also have you updated your drives firmware? Manufactures usually update firmware for speed increases and media compatability.

It was burning at 2x and the DVD discs were rated for 8x. I've tried with 3 different media types (CD, (2) DVD) It was a strict data CD. (Actually it was an official MSDN .ISO direct from Microsoft's website) The burn was fine on my home computer with the same media (well, a new disc) and same .iso. All burns were using Nero.

Burn process is always successful and no errors. Firmware was original, as shipped from manufacturer (Sager/Clevo).

I have finally gotten a response from Sager support and they have told me to ship in the drive for tests/repair. That was all they said, so I don't know if it's a known problem or if they just don't have a way to troubleshoot it remotely. Hopefully they can resolve it.
