CDRW/DVD Drive in Inspiron 5100 not working!

Hi guys,

The CD-R/DVD drive isn't working - it refuses to read any CDs or DVDs. I'm planning on purchasing a replacement drive on eBay, but I am computer illiterate and have no idea how to go about replacing it. Is there any way someone can take me step-by-step so that I can avoid going into Best Buy and falling for their outrageous service charges?

Make sure you have all the proper tools (listed in the manual) first. Organize your workspace. Take it slow and easy. You can do it! ...or find a friend who can.
