9860 DVD/DL burning issues

I finally got my self some Memorex Double Layer DVD+R's primarily for back up purposes, but the 2 times that I tried to burn to them using Nero 6.0 "both times with data verrification turned on."

First time the verrification came back with a failure "burned at 2.4X" & the second time it got to 50% & locked up the PC "Burning at 1X."

Could there be an issue with the media because on standard single layer disks "Memorex or Sony" I don't have this issue or could it be an issue with my DVDRW/DL drive?

Thought to ask here first before giving a call to Sager because I'm guessing that I'm not the only one with this issue...

You will find Verbatim media will give you the best performance in laptop burners particularly if the burner is a NEC 6500A or 6650A

If you are able to find them in the US, Taiyo Yuden is the best. Check the reviews on the internet for more info.

Maybe and maybe not... really depends on if the drive "likes the media". Some drive just don't like the better/best media...
