So I just got a Lenovo Yoga 13. This is my review.
As what I primarily do is writing and programming, having a good keyboard is critical for me, which is why a tablet alone can’t work for me, and...
I have owned dozens of laptops in a variety of brands, and had many different laptops provided for my use at work. Without question, this is the finest I have owned. The Alienware M17x R2 is a...
Lenovo Thinkpad W530 Review

One of the longest and most enduring brands in computers is Thinkpad. Originally developed by IBM in the USA, Thinkpad notebook computers are now...
As far as the fan goes, mine is rarely on, and I have the 2.0 GHZ Pentium M. It is also really quiet. I only notice it if I have complete silence in the room. Too bad to hear that you had a bad experience, because I love my 6000.

The D810/M70 lines are also wonderful machines. I don't quite understand the comment that the 15.4" i6000 W screen is smaller than the one on the i8600. How can that be? Of course the W screen is a fair bit smaller than the old standard aspect ratio 15" screen. More portable, therefore...

Ditto that. I also opted for the 2G processor and so far, I love this laptop. It is quiet, screen (WSXGA) looks great, and the keyboard has a nice feel to it. Not a mechanical feel like my Toshiba Satellite.
I got my i6000 last evening and I've been nothing but impressed. The screen is amazing--a huge improvement over my IBM T40. The only drawback so far was all the junk software that comes pre-loaded on the machine.
I've read somewhere on the Dell forums that the screen's quality is not only dependent on the screen itself but also on the graphic card and the motherboard. This guy had 2 Inspiron 6000, one with a very good screen and another with a bad screen. So he decided to switch the screen. Nothing changed. The laptop where the screen looked crappy was still crappy and the other one was still good. So if you have a bad screen, the reason switching screens doesn't make it better may be because the problem isn't with the screen at all.
I'm suppose to get my Inspiron 6000 Monday or Tuesday. I'm also worried about getting one with a bad screen. It seems like it's a question of luck.

yea dell and basically every other company are just not keeping the quality, they all are cost cutting and when they do this they are taking the quality away and it really shows :-( although i am happy with my I6000 so far...
That's why you have Anericans lining up at 5AM in the morning on the day after thanksgiving fighting for a chance to buy a $300 laptop. Everything's about cost cutting these days.

I don't buy that. I think he got the screens or notebooks switched and compared the same screen twice. It could depend on what the specific things that were wrong with the screen. Was it colors? Brightness? Light leakage? Were the two screens the same resolution?
Someone put a Sony Viao lcd in a 9300 a while back. Said it looked great.
