Hello, I'm a newbie and its great to be here. I have an alienware model # 5620d. I'm for sure that my battery has gone but when I plug it up and try to start it, the video is real dark. I wanted to say the video didn't work but you can see the boot up "Windows XP" when you start it up. I've tried everthing but no light to see what I'm doing. Can anybody help me? Thanks.

Also check the LCD connector. And maybe your LCD back light went out.

Also when you say you tried 'everything', please tell us what you did try Maybe it wasn't everything

Good Luck!

Thanks Zee! O.k., the first thing I did was make sure the lcd connector was connected. I unscrewed the bottom of the screen and they were connected. Second, I pushed in the "thingy" right next to the hinge(gray color). I tried to brighten it up, contrast, etc. It was working last week but it went black again. Any suggestions?

Try this, open the LCD case and check the cables behind the LCD. If that doesnt work then its etheir ur vid card is thats dying/dead or your LCD back light went X_X Call tech support so they send replacement parts www.support.alienware.com

Have your AW account # ready good luck.

Yea it sounds like a faulty wirring or at worst ur vid card going X_X

Look up on the support.alienware.com info about your LCD screen, you might find a guide of how to take it appart and see whats wrong, or call the tech line up, they will guide u.
