...does the Area51m2 3-in-1 card reader support Smart Media cards?

The website says MMC/SD/MS which means: Multi Media Card, Secure Digital Card and Memory Stick.

Is 'Multi Media' card the same thing as a 'Smart Media' card?

Does anyone who has their Area51m2 actually used a smart media card with the built in reader?

Unfortunately no it does not read Smart Media cards nor does it read Compact Flash Cards.
