Okay, go have fun while your playing for a $700 graphics card, not to mention how much you payed for your PC, while I go get a $400 console, and get the same graphics if not better!
Also, have you seen ANY games yet to be designed for the 7800GTX?
Nope. Look at call of duty 2 for xbox 360, BEAUTIFUL GRAPHICS. Well, buy that same copy for PC, you will not get the same graphics as you did on the xbox 360. Why? Because the game was not designed to be a high graphics game like it is on the xbox 360.
They don't make games for the 7800gtx because not everyone has them, period.
They make games for the xbox 360 because if people are doing armed robbery to get one, odviously they're in high demand.
You have to be f*cking kidding me. That was one of the most poorly constructed arguments I have ever seen. At least get your facts correct. I have no qualms against apple, but you sir need to stop spamming crap you just made up.
1) Right now, the xbox 360 is *MAYBE* about on par with the 7800 series, certainly not better
2) I've seen the x-box 360, and frankly it has failed to impress me. PC games have had those "high quality" graphics for quite a while now (Half-Life 2 or Doom 3 anybody?). I haven't seen anything that looks better on the 360 than on the PC yet. Also, don't try to pull that BS argument that the 360 is at the beggining of it's life, so the graphics are not going to use the full power of the 360 yet, the same could be said of the PC, and by the time x-box 360 is "optimized" PC cards will be faster and have better graphics.
3) Your CoD 2 argument has to be some of the most loaded BS ever. Most people are going to be playing on standard TV's, severely limiting the "beautiful graphics" of the 360. Also, if you try to argue for HDTV's, I can just comeback and say, my PC costs less than your TV. So in reality, to get the most of your 360, you would have to pay thousands of dollars, just as costly, if not more than a "gaming" computer. Go have fun with your $5000 TV. Also, guess what? A gaming computer can do much more than just game! *GASP* it can actually do quite a bit of productive work. Hard to believe isn't it?
4) As for your "not everyone makes games for the 7800GTX" argument, have you heard of scalability? That's right, the more powerful your graphic card, the higher you can turn the details and resolution. Isn't that nifty?
Sorry, but your argument that PC gaming is going to be phased out by consoles is wrong. People thought the same thing when the PS2 and xbox came out. PC gaming still looks strong to me. If anything, consoles are turning into computers.
