I didnt quiet understand: you have updated the BIOS and laptop died, or your laptop died as you were upgrading or downloading new BIOS?
Try this:
1. shut down ur computer
2. take out battery and unplug power supply
3. press power-on button and HOLD it for 30seconds
4. Press power-on button AGAIN and HOLD for about 90 seconds
5. reinstall battery and power adapter and try to turn computer on

Oh, and is the laptop still under warranty? if yes just give TOSHIBA a call or bring it to their service center and make them fix it for ya =)

If the laptop died while you were rewriting the BIOS you got pretty good chances that its that. Only Toshiba can fix a ruined Bios chip.
