Oooo! A7G or A5Ec. I dunno. If only the A7G was in 15.4".
Looking forward to it!

only if they had a sleek model design like the Asus W2.

Yuck! So many 17" screens...

Great to see the move to 17", but my complaints is the wxga (on a 17" WTF), these look like the pride and joy of asus. Seem kinda "present technology." Hope they refresh these, they be outdated in no time.
they are aLL too heavy and thick!!!
What ever happened to thin and light for mobility!!!

Ohwell those laptops seems ok, nothing to spectacular.

We have no clue on the battery life or anything.

For one thing, i have some high expectations for the Acer 8200!!
Its got a Yonah Duo - with w/e technology to have good battery life.
X1600 - with 3 peices of techonology to boost batterylife by 10-15%.
and for size it is exactly the same as the Acer 8100 series.
About 1.4" thick at the back and 6.6lbs (not thin and light but its definately mobile)
its also made out a carbon fibre jacket.
Has all connectivities yay for DVI ( i have no use for it LOL)
Estimated Battery Life is 6 hours but i'm guessing it can hit 5 hours avg

But i ain't hating on ASUS, i know ASUS will come up with something much better! GO ASUS

Thanks,

Bah, WXGA and 17" screens...

Step in the wrong direction, IMO. Lots of people get laptops for mobility, not games. We need more machines like the V6Va or Z70Va.
There will be newer machines... These machines have been on the website for a while.
I'm sure Asus has quite a few tricks up its sleeves that has yet to be seen.

I want to see more Asus notebooks that have cool looks like the V6v maybe a 15.4'' version?
Dear Asus:

Please send us a WUXGA 17" turion with something BETTER than an x700.

Much Love,
Me.

Agreed! The slim 15 and 15.4s (like the damn-sexy z70va) seem to be really popular, and DVI out would certainly suit my needs. Maybe a new 14" widescreen will come out too, hopefully correcting some of the hard-drive heating problems of the previous models.

Come on Asus! We're rooting for you!
yes i totaly agree with some of the comments.

We need more ASUS Z70va type laptops, but thinner and lighter, with DVI and puwerful gpus like X1600.
Similiar things for 14" like the W3v.

But from what i have heard, all of the new asus laptops are only gonna be refreshes of older models, (meaning basicaly the same chasis and similiar features).

But After March (from what i've heard), asus will create brand new laptops.
From what i have seen in 2005, ASUS and Samsung created the two best 15.4" laptops.

ASUS Z70va and the Samsung X50 XVM 2130 both are thin and light, meaning they did take advantage of the technology they had. (Centrino).

Now that the NAPA (CEntrino Duo, yonah) is released i think Intel claimed laptops would become 35% thinner, HOWEVER, the ODMs take advantage of this technology, but the CPU is only one factor to what make a laptop thin and light... so yah, whatever ASUS releases i am pretty sure the will try their best to make it thin and light, and same goes for Samsung.

Thanks,

MysticGolem
