Here
My 8890 likes these drivers seems to run smoother to me. Self-installer no problems.

Woo, downloading now. Thanks for the link.

They're excellent! I'm running them right now. It does seem slightly faster.

Maybe it will fix the crappy sound that it has in Halo.....damn these integrated sound cards

After downloading the driver I noticed that I can no longer access the Realtek AVRACK. I click on the blue funny looking icon on my desktop and it searches for the program with no luck. Also when I run SANDRA utility is says that I possibly have an "obsolete audio driver". What gives with this audio driver?

I also installed the new realtek drivers and am not able to open the Avrack application from the programs menu. I checked program files and the Avrack folder and the realtek folder are empty??????

It's odd that it would get rid of that, especially since it's a few mb bigger than the last driver release.

Thanks for the heads up Colin.
Or should that be ears up .

Slightly off topic, but does the internal sound card support EAX or is that proprietary to Sound Blaster/Creative?

a little bit too excited there, eh Colin?

Oh and you can fix the problem with the realtek media play by downloading the updated version at the top of the list on the link posted above.

Just remember, never stick anything smaller than a piano in your ear. Even those Q-tips can cause damage. Excess excretions in the ear should only be removed by trained specialists.

Wow, I don't think you'll ever find another company like realtek when it comes to driver support... I bought this cheap generic PCMCIA Wifi adapter, and when I plugged it in, I noticed it was a realtek chipset... I sure got a good product for just $20, because with the realtek drivers, I could get so much better signal than with the generic drivers. You know you'll get support when you get a realtek device!

On the download site, there is also shown a file for RltRack, could this be a replacement for AVRACK? I've downloaded it but haven't checked it out yet.

Man, is that a slow download or what. I usually can manage 1 MB/s, zap, its done, this is running at 4.7 KB/s, its going to take half an hour or more. Sheesh, is this 2004 or what?

Lol, a good part of the world is quite used to that speed... So was I, until DSL hit our area. Thank god the evil dailup demon has been smitten! (At least for me...)

My worst fear, loss of broadband. What else could be so awful, so brutal, so deprivating?
