Linux, 5270 and screen resolution

I've been working fine in linux, and everything's good. After I instlalled Windows on my laptop tho I started to notice that the res in windows looked a lot 'bigger' (text was smaller, more desktop space, etc..) then it is in Linux. KDE does report that it's running at 1920x1200, so I'm a bit confused. Here is my xorg.conf file, I have trired it in both 16bit and 24bit, both look the same and report 1920x1200

However KDE also could be enlarging fonts and text to make it easier to read, I remember things looking larger in KDE than in other WMs last time I tried it. Try a different WM and see if it is the same?

yeah that.

i remember when i used to run Windows on my desktop, it ran a @ a smaller resolution in windows to look the same @ a higher resolution in linux, especially with KDE (CRT...so i can do that).

Check your fonts dpi in KDE.......

SuSE KDE make my fonts huge on my 1400x1050 res but they are perfect with Slackware.

Well I lowered the DPI on fonts down 4 notches, and it still feels like it's not the right resolution. I am thinking it could be KDE itself though because when I'm in WoW on windows, and in Linux, running at the 1920x1200 resolution, they both do look like I have the same amount of space on the screen. I guess what I'll have to do is adjust the fonts in each and every application I'm using. Things like the fonts in Firefox just seam huge right now.

try taking a screenshot with ksnapshot to see if ur running at 1920x1200, or post your /var/log/Xorg.0.log, and we can verify for sure your running at that resolution.
