buying a new lap top

I do not know much about computers, maybe some of you may help. I am planning on buying a new lap top, my requirements are:
- portable, not more then 6 pounds weight
- wireless, to be able to use it in hot spots
- I want to be able to burn CDS and view DVDs
- not more than $1600
- a spanish keyboard would be a plus!
My favorites at the moment are:
Gateway 200x
Toshiba Satellite m 35-s359
compaq pressario x 1030
ibm thinkpad 2372

Any opinions?

Cmurga, add the Gateway m505 to your considerations. Great machine for many, may be for you. On the high end of your weight requirment though. Gateway m505 thread

Oh, i didnt see the weight thing....a 10lb 5680 is in every way still portable.

hp zt3000 is much better than the compaq x1000 , its the EXACT same thing but without the bugs of the x1000. and a little cheaper as well
