I finally pulled the plug on my dying Sager NP-8790.

Salvaged the CPU, RAM and 2 x 60GB 7200rpm HDDs from the laptop.

Ordered these parts:

Newegg:

1. Antec Solution SLK3000-B Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

2. ABIT IS7-E2 Socket 478 Intel 865PE ATX Intel Motherboard

3. eVGA Geforce 6600GT 128MB

4. SeaSonic S12-330 ATX12V 330W Power Supply

5. Patriot Signature Series 1GB (2 x 512MB)

6. LG DVD Burner

Heatsink Factory:

1. ThermalRight XP-90

2. Panaflo 92mm Fan

3. Nexus 120mm Real Silent Case Fan

Buy.com:

1. 2.5" - 3.5" Hard Drive Adapter

TOTAL COST: $565.00

Now I have a second desktop to go along with my main rig as seen in this thread:

Thanks...I didnt want to throw away a perfectly good P4 processor along with the laptop.

I wonder what i'll do with the 9700 Pro from the motherboard though? I should be able to de-solder it...and then what? Install into a Mac Mini?

LOL

Nope...machine running GREAT! Much faster than the 8790 because of the 6600GT and desktop RAM and basically a freed up and cooler P4

Loving it...my main rig had troubles with the mobo and RMA process is undersay...thank goodness I decided to build this baby to keep me going in the meanwhile
