Can you rephrase your question please? Are you asking for the top 3 laptops out right now? If so, check out pcworld.com : http://pcworld.com/reviews/article/0,aid,123729,00.asp

Be careful when giving out this kind of advice... PCworld is kinda biased in their opinions of notebooks, which is unfortunate because of the site's popularity (unknowing people acutally take whatever they say as absolute truth). Ask just about anyone with a bit of knowledge on these forums what their top 5 are and i dont think that a single one of those laptops would be included in the list...

As for the original poster, there are about 12156234678 threads answering this question in some way shape or form.

In terms of build quality and durability: Asus, IBM, & Panasonic

In terms of gaming power: Sager, Alienware, Dell (XPS2)

In terms of style: Asus, Apple, Sony

In terms of overall value: Asus, Sager, Dell (if you use one of their big coupons)

It really depends on what you're looking for and what you want the brand to be best in.

djame...i would replace Sager and Alienware in the gaming with Clevo for since both are based on clevos (i am aware AW also uses some Uniwill barebones...for the Sentia...which is NOT a gaming system).

I was guessing that norbx has most likely never heard of Clevo, and was trying to simplify it for clarity. And he said brands, which is usually asssociated with brands you can buy directly (and I know you can actually buy Clevo branded systems also, but their systems sold by Sager and Alienware are more readily accessible in the US)
