Power Inverters

Thread Starter
Hello everyone,

I'm road tripping it and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions to running the 9880 on an inverter. It shows the load at 11 amps
~ 1300 watts. Would a modified sine wave inverter 1500 continuous/3000 max. be sufficient?

Thanks

I was thinking about the vantek 1500 watts because i have the 700 watt one and it isnt good enough to power the notebook.

The Vantek 1500 should suit your needs fine, IMHO.

All you need is the tripp lite 350 watt inverter. Cheaper inverters will require you to go way up in wattage. The higher wattager inverter the less efficent it is (will waste more car battery power) I use the tripp lite 350w inverter with my 9880 (220 watt power supply standard on 9880) and game on the road no problem. You have to have the car running unless you have a good battery like an optima yellow top. If you buy an inverter and it beeps while using the laptop your car's alternator is not powerful enough or you need heaver wireing for you cigeratte lighter. You will need a 20AMP fuse on your car cigeratte lighter to be able to use the 9880 in your car. The 9880 pulls like 18 or 19 DC amps.
