i build computers, but when it comes to laptops i am somewhat of a noob.
i am looking for a new laptop, so i have come to you guys for some help. first i will be using the laptop mostly for gaming. so my question: what is the difference between these two laptops and what is the better of the two?
sager 9750-V:
ram: 1 gig (2x512mb)
cpu: 4200x2
gpu: 7800gtx go
hd: 100gig 7200
Aviator FX7
ram: 1 gig(2x512mb)
cpu: 3800x2
gpu: 7800gtx go
hd: 100 gig
both hard drives at 7200 rpms. both with screen res at 1920x1200. why is it that the sager is cheaper? and are there better laptops out there for under 3,000 usd? i read the review on the sager laptop here but could not find one on the fx7. thanks for the help.

edit: i just found a thread on the fx7. i will read through that. any help is welcome

The Sager is cheeper because the Hypersonic is a hyped up company that advertises more and they have to make up for that cost somewhere.

And if you're going to spend $2000 on a gaming machine, you could put together a much more kick ass desktop for that money.

The Sager is cheaper cause Hypersonic is overpriced.

And obviously, the Sager is better with the faster processor.

Unless you don't like its looks (I think the chassis is ugly), go for the sager.

Hyper pricematched my AX7 with pctorque, but it's only because I bought two of them. From my experience, they offered phenominal support. Others don't agree. Sager has notoriously horrible suppport with virtually no quality testing. Hyper has a 48 hour burn in period.

Hyper also offered some configurations that Sager didn't offer. Finally, hyper offers amazing paint jobs via smooth creations if you're into that stuff.

I'm giving Sager a shot this time with my 9750. $500 premium on my order wasn't worth going with hyper again. We'll see if that was a mistake.

Finally, if you can, get a 1gb stick instead of 2 512's. You won't have dual channel enabled but at least you'll be able to upgrade.
